What’s Happening!

Classes are well underway now.  Monday morning class has a few new faces as well as my Wednesday evening class. I am thinking it is time to start another class just for beginners.  This would give all my new people an in depth lesson on how this magical medium of watercolour actually works.  Every one is doing so well.

I have 2 girls for my Thursday afternoon Children’s class and hope to attract a few more to that.

I am embarking on a big learning curve myself in the middle of the month and partaking in a Workshop in Cairns ( Artescape ) my tutor will be Cherry Hood, an Archibald winner (2002) The only recipient to have won this prestigious art prize using watercolour. The workshop will of course be on painting the face in the watercolour medium.  I hope to then pass on my knowledge to my students.  I received a grant from  RADF via Gladstone Art Gallery and museum and the Queensland Government for which I am truly grateful.  This will take place from 21st July to 25th so I will be away that week.  One of my students is attending the McGregor Art School in Toowoomba this coming week.  It will be great to see what she will have learnt.  Workshops are a fantastic way of learning and improving skills in making art. I have attended many  over the years but not for the last 5 years so it will be a great experience.  I have never been to Cairns either so that to will be an adventure.

I hope to post my efforts when I am back.
